Some animals you can expect to see at the farm include cows, pigs, horses, goats and sheep. Occasionally, visitors can also come face to face with ponies, a turkey and even a camel. The farm is also home to many of Australia’s native animal species, including kangaroos, koalas, emus, and reptiles.
Most of the animals are found within enclosures, but there is an animal nursery where children can touch and feed them. Note that animal food is available for purchase at the farm and that visitors are not allowed to feed the animals anything other than the animal feed provided on-site.
In addition to the chance to be with the animals, Calmsley Hill City Farm offers a handful of tour activities. The tractor rides around the farm are a highlight, and there is an audio commentary about the farm.
The farm also has shows during the day, including sheep shearing, milking cows, and a working dog show. Other amenities at the farm include a cafe, a kids’ playground, a gift shop, and picnic sites.
Calmsley Hill City Farm is easily accessible from 31 Darling Street in Abbotsbury, and free parking is available on-site.
