Centennial Park is a prime Sydney attraction whose expansive urban parks have made it a beautiful destination. This park also has great historical significance as it is home to the Federation Pavilion, another iconic monument in the city.
The park comprises three key urban parks covering more than 360 hectares, providing enough space for locals and foreigners to explore one of the city’s most beautiful green spaces. Centennial Park is full of surprises, as there are lots of fun things to do all year round.

Alternatively, enjoy picnics with friends and family at any of the different picnic spots located onsite. Unsurprisingly, the park has been a favourite meeting place for many years. There are 11 picnic sites available for exclusive use, usually by private and corporate groups, which must be booked in advance. Remember to take your trash with you after the picnic.
Nothing beats a good BBQ on a lazy weekend at Centennial Park. Visitors can experience one of Australia’s quintessential activities: BBQ in the outdoors. Use any of the eight free electric barbecues, each with two hotplates. The barbecues cannot be booked and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Come up close with nature by taking a self-guided walk across the park. This walk provides a perfect opportunity to discover wildlife at the park and appreciate conservation efforts to protect natural flora. Dog owners have the option of walking in both on-leash and off-leash areas.
Other exciting activities at the park include horse riding, bird watching, and kids’ playgrounds. Several food and beverage stalls are open to park visitors all year round. Centennial Park is easily accessible from the Sydney CBD.
