Circular Quay Attractions, Restaurants, Bars, Cafes, Pubs & Food, Sydney
Circular Quay consists of beautiful walkways, delightful parks and restaurants complete with ferry quays and a train station for easy access. The Quay is in fact, the city’s main ferry terminus located in the heart of Sydney Cove. This works as the gateway to the city, allowing visitors to explore some of Sydney’s most iconic attractions. These include The Rocks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as well as the Sydney Opera House – all of which are within walking distance.
There are ferries departing from the terminal to different parts of the harbour every few minutes or so. Some of the ferry destinations include Taronga Zoo, Watsons Bay and Manly, amongst others. In addition to providing easy access for tourist to get to The Quay, the ferries also provide Sydney dwellers with an easy way to crisscross the region.
A good part of the charm that The Quay oozes is as a result of its beautiful open spaces. Here, locals and foreigners alike mingle and enjoy the natural beauty while sharing meals in many of the outdoor eating areas set onsite. Towards the eastern side of the Quay are open-air restaurants that take up a lot of the outdoor space. This is the perfect location for al-fresco dining as you soak up the beautiful views that surround the promenade.
The western side of the Quay leads to The Rocks, the historic settlement area for Sydney Cove. Today, this former settlement area is abuzz with restaurants, cafes, market stalls and shops.
Walk along the foreshore and you will get to the Harbour Bridge, at an area that is popularly known as Dawes Point. This is a perfect location for destination photography with magical views of the area at dawn and dusk.
