Georges River Nature Reserve

If you’d love a quiet walk in nature, take on the Ridge walking track. This track stretches for 1.6 kilometres one way, and typically takes about an hour. The Yeramba Lagoon Track, on the other hand, is the go-to trail for bird lovers. There are more than a hundred species of birds here, including grey fantails and beautiful pink robins.

For families, nothing beats a riverside picnic in the grassy sections at the Cattle Duffers Flat area. It is set along the river, which means you can always take along your fishing rod. Other activities include sight-seeing and kayaking.

Morgans Creek picnic area is also a spectacular location for picnicking, so carry an outdoor blanket and bring along some snacks to enjoy. This area is also popular for water activities that include water skiing, fishing, boating and jet skiing. There is ample space for the kids to run around too.

In addition to its unique landscapes, the reserve is home to great biodiversity. Its most alluring attribute is that it is home to some endangered species and many ecologically significant ones. The park also has a high population of koalas, so keep your eye out for the cuddly creatures.
