Hickson Road Reserve is a small park close to Dawes Point Park, with panoramic views of the Harbour Bridge and the iconic Opera House.
This park is one of the most popular areas of the entire foreshore, and the reserve’s natural beauty makes it an excellent photography location.

If you are looking for a laid-back day outside the city centre, why not sit in one of the shaded areas and watch as the ferries pass by. The Opera House lights up at dusk, creating a dazzling reflection on the water.
If you are fascinated by the history of some of Sydney’s attractions, you will undoubtedly love Dawes Point Cannons. Visitors can get a glimpse into the city’s rich colonial history, and by taking a walk around, you can’t help but marvel at the number of cannons used many years ago.
After some exploration, why not treat yourself to a snack at any of the different eateries nearby. If you love a meal with a view, you’ll enjoy the cafes that line the harbourside of the walkway and the pubs and restaurants at The Rocks.
There are trash bins along the harbour, so make sure you discard your waste appropriately. Washrooms are located near the point where George Street meets Lower Fort Street, just below the bridge.
Visitors can walk their dogs within the park, but dogs must always remain on a leash. While Hickson Road is a favourite for cyclists, there are no bike racks here, so owners should find an alternate way to secure their bicycles.
Hickson Road Reserve is easily accessible by Hickson Road and is a 20-minute walk from Circular Quay railway station.
