Mona Vale Beach is a perfect beach destination in the Northern Beaches. It is one of the most popular destinations for beach-goers looking for a break from the city.
Mona Vale is two distinct beaches divided by an ocean rock platform, which creates dramatic views of the waters as the waves roll in. Swimmers must stay in patrolled swimming areas for safety.

To the north lies The Basin, a fun bay area flanked by cliffs that create a breathtaking background. This beach is generally more sheltered than the main section of Mona Vale Beach. The flip side is that there are no patrolled areas with flags for swimmers to enjoy a dip. Consequently, this section of the beach may not be ideal for novice swimmers.Further southwards, as you head to Warriewood, the region leads to several secluded areas known as Cooks Terrace. These beach areas are patrolled, so they are ideal for swimming. For the little ones, the most fun-filled part of this beach experience is the rock platform that divides the two beaches.
This platform has a 25-metre lap pool that receives ocean water. This makes it a perfect place for the kids to splash around, particularly at low tide. Entry is free at this lap pool, so there is no excuse not to enjoy a perfect summer day at Mona Vale Beach. There is also a smaller pool for the little ones to enjoy.
Some amenities at the beach include a Bronze kiosk, washrooms, showers, accessible toilets at the SLSC Block, and a kids’ playground nearby. Paid parking is available at the beachside carpark, and a bus stop is nearby for easy access by public transport.
Mona Vale Beach is located 45 minutes away from the Sydney CBD and is easily accessible by bus services.
