VIP Entry
The VIP capacity is much smaller than the GA crowd, which means the area will be less crowded, and you will have quicker access to bars and toilets within the VIP area. It also has a VIP viewing platform and includes complimentary phone charging and cloak!

All within the General Admission (GA) area of the event. The Fast Forward add-on must be paired with a GA or VIP festival ticket.
Entry Conditions
Please understand that Field Day is a licensed venue. Police and liquor licensing require that every person who comes to the event have a photo ID. To ensure quick entry, please ensure your photo ID and ticket are ready for presentation at the gate. Digital IDs will be accepted; however, please ensure your phone battery will last the day, as a flat battery will mean you will no longer have a valid ID.
You will also have your belongings checked for restricted items and may be subjected to metal detection and/or pat-down tests for concealed weapons and other prohibited items.
As it is a fully licensed event, there is no BYO. The bars will provide a range of alcoholic drinks (full, mid and low-strength) and non-alcoholic options, including bottled water.
Field Day is 100% cashless. The terminals accept Visa, Mastercard, and EFTPOS and can be processed via tap (PayPass, payWave, tap and go), swipe, or chip insert, but they do not accept Diners or AMEX. There will be a variety of food stalls at Field Day, offering a wide range of snacks and meals.
There will be many free water outlets at this event, with some chilled and some undercover. Complimentary water and cups will also be available at all alcohol service points.
Getting There
Field Day is held at The Domain, Sydney. The main entrance is via Art Gallery Road, directly across from the Art Gallery of NSW.
Public Transport
We encourage you to use public transport. The closest train station is St James Station. It is approx 300m distance from the station to the main entrance.
Parking
Parking is available at The Domain Car Park (St Mary’s Road, Sydney). The discounted rate only applies to online bookings or the Wilson Parking app.
Drop-Off/Pick-Up Zone
The drop-off zone is located on Hospital Road and can be accessed via College St, St Marys Road and Prince Albert Road. Please follow the traffic controllers’ directions when travelling towards Field Day.
Road Closures
There will be road closures along Art Gallery Road, St Mary’s Road, Prince Albert Road, Hospital Road, Macquarie St, St James Road, College St and Cathedral St at various times during the event. Traffic controllers will manage this to assist with the safe delivery of the event.
During these times, there will be increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the local area; please expect short delays.
FAQs
Can you leave and come back in?
No, you cannot leave and come back in. There are NO PASSOUTS, so please ensure you bring in everything you’ll need for the day. This includes any medication, along with your prescription for the medication.
Can you bring a camera?
First and foremost, please respect the privacy of all other patrons, artists and service providers at Field Day when using your camera or mobile phone to take photos.
Professional still cameras (such as an SLR), professional video cameras (including go-pros), sound recording equipment and professional lighting and tripod set ups are not permitted at Field Day without written authority from the Promoters.
Is cash accepted on-site?
EFTPOS and credit cards are the only way to purchase food, Drink, and merchandise. There are no ATMs on site.
Can you bring food to the event?
External food cannot be brought into the event per our entry conditions. We will have a wide variety of food vendors on the day.
However, we can’t guarantee that the food available for purchase at the festival is allergy-safe. Therefore, the Front Entry Manager will allow you to bring in your own food under the following conditions:
- if it is wrapped in clear plastic wrapping
- you can provide a doctor’s note or medical form showing proof of allergy
Please do not bring eskies, picnic blankets or baskets, folding chairs, glass containers, knives, or other bulky or sharp items. Security guards will check bags at the gate and confiscate prohibited items.
Can you bring a water bottle?
We are happy you will bring an empty plastic water bottle to Field Day; metal and glass water bottles will not be permitted.
We offer free water stations across the festival site where you can fill up your bottles throughout the day. Please note that soft drinks, juice, milk, energy drinks, flavoured water, and sports water cannot be brought into the festival.
Can you buy alcohol?
Field Day is a strictly 18+ licensed event. We’ll have a range of beverages for you, including all your favourite beers, ciders and spirits. A range of non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase around the event.
BYO alcohol is strictly prohibited. Security will check all bags and containers at the entrance, and any alcohol found will be confiscated.
Is there a clock room?
A cloakroom will be located at Anything Anytime inside the event for $5 per item. We’d recommend the size of your bag being cloaked is no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper.
What if it rains?
Field Day will go ahead, rain or shine. If it looks like it’s going to rain, by all means, bring a poncho or raincoat and your gumboots, but please leave your umbrella (all kinds) at home.
In case of wet weather, ponchos are available to buy at Anything Anytime. If there are extreme weather conditions, we will contact you with further information.
