The Rosehill Gardens Racecourse is a premium horse racing venue in the Western suburbs of Sydney. It is best known for hosting the Golden Slipper thoroughbred horse race, one of the most popular destinations for race-goers.

The Golden Slipper Carnival is held at Rosehill Gardens in March and consists of several races.

The pinnacle day of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is Australia’s biggest day of Group 1 racing. Featuring five Group 1 races in total, the day is headlined by the world’s richest race for two-year-olds – the $5 million TAB Golden Slipper.

Your ticket includes travel on trains, buses, light rail, and ferries. When boarding services, simply show your ticket, proof of purchase, or ATC membership to transport staff.

What To Wear

The official carnival colour for the Golden Slipper is a “Touch of Gold“.

Ladies – Members
Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the regulations of the Members Reserve. The dress code also applies to members’ guests and those day guests in dining rooms and venues within the member’s reserve areas. Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country. The dress code applies to children 14 years and over.

Ladies – General Admission
General Admission has no formal dress code, but it’s recommended that you wear smart clothing befitting a race day occasion. All general admission dining rooms and function venues require smart casual attire. Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country. The dress code applies to children 14 years of age and over.

Gentlemen – Members
In Member areas at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens, gentlemen must wear tailored pants, dress shoes, a collared shirt and tie, and a jacket, sports coat, or blazer. The dress code also applies to members’ guests and those day guests in dining rooms and venues within the Members Reserve areas.

Gentlemen must wear a suit of tailored slacks (tailored chinos are acceptable), a sports coat or blazer, a tie, and dress shoes. Jackets are optional during daylight savings periods.

Ties are always required in the Members Reserve area. Members found not wearing a tie within the Members area will be asked to purchase a tie from the Members Concierge.

Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country.

Travel & Parking at Rosehill Gardens

Rosehill Gardens is situated approximately 20km west of the Sydney CBD in the city’s heart, and parking is available on-site. Patrons can also travel by train to Parramatta Station or by ferry to Rydalmere to connect with light rail or regular bus services to Rosehill Gardens.

Travel on public transport to and from the racecourse on 15, 22 and 29 March during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is included in your raceday ticket across Sydney trains, metro, buses, ferries and light rail services. Simply show your ticket, proof of purchase, or ATC membership to transport staff when using boarding services.

Light Rail
L4 – Westmead / Carlingford to Rosehill Gardens

The Rosehill Gardens stop is located on Grand Avenue North (Camellia), which leads to the racecourse’s main entrance, which is a short 6-minute walk away. The service connects Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5 a.m. until 1 a.m. on weekdays and weekends. During major race days and events, additional services will also run.

Buses to and from Parramatta Train Station
Transport NSW public services will be operating. The closest train station to Rosehill Gardens is Parramatta Station. You can catch the regular 920 bus to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse from there.

Bus Route 920
Direction: Parramatta – Bankstown
From Parramatta: Services depart from Parramatta Station Interchange, Stand A2, and stop on James Ruse Drive, opposite Prospect Street.
Return to Parramatta: Services leave from James Ruse Drive at Prospect Street and drop off at Parramatta Interchange.

Members’ & Owners’ Car Parking
Reserved Members Car Parking is available for those with annual parking passes. Limited Unreserved Parking is available in P2, P3, and P4.

Taxis
Set Down – Taxis enter Rosehill Gardens Racecourse through the Grand Avenue gates. The set-down point is at the taxi rank. Taxis are not permitted to stop on James Ruse Drive and Grand Ave.
Pick Up – Taxis are located at the Grand Avenue end of the racecourse adjacent to the Might and Power entry.

ATC Members Coach Service
An exclusive Members’ Coach service runs for the comfort and convenience of ATC Members. Seats on the coach must be pre-purchased prior to the race day in which you wish to travel.

Disabled & Accessible Car Parking
Limited disabled parking is available in the P1 and P3 car parks. Entry to these car parks is via James Ruse Drive P3 and Grand Ave P1 Gate 1. Please ensure a disabled parking sticker is always prominently displayed within the vehicle.

General Admission Parking
Three of the city’s major vehicular arteries – Parramatta Rd, Victoria Rd and the M4 Motorway service Rosehill Gardens. There is free car parking in P4 car park located on James Ruse Drive & Prospect Street and P6 Infield car park. Entry to the Infield car park is via Gate 2 Unwin Street. Note the infield carpark tunnel height is 3.2m.

Private Coaches and Mini Bus
The designated set-down and pick-up area for private coaches (over 3.4m high) is located along the western side of Arthur Street. Private coaches are permitted to park within this area for the race day.

Patrons organising mini-buses (under 3.4m high) to transport them to and from Rosehill Gardens will use the Grand Ave P1 entry bus stop park for all set-downs and pick-ups. Mini-buses over 3.4m high are to use the private coach designated parking area.
