Mothers Day Classic

The Mother’s Day Classic is a walk/run fun run held in Sydney in May. It is an important fundraising initiative raising millions of dollars yearly for breast cancer research.

This year, the Mother’s Day Classic distances at The Domain within the Royal Botanic Garden are 5km and 10km – available as a run and walk.

Mothers Day Classic Sydney 2025 Dates, Course Map, Parking & Times

The Sydney course commences at the Phillip Precinct at The Domain. The Domain Sydney is a 34-hectare, heritage-listed open space area located only 5 minutes from the heart of the Sydney CBD.

The course will take participants past attractions, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Andrew Boyd Charlton pool and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair.

Runners are split into four self-seeded start groups: A, B, C, and D, with the “A” Group being the fastest and the “D” group being the slowest. Slow runners, walkers, and those participating with wheelchairs and prams should assemble at the rear of their start group. Elite wheelchair participants should self-seed and assemble based on their expected speed.

If you have been touched by breast or ovarian cancer, join a ‘Embrace & Honour’ time, when we will reflect on the strength of the MDC community.

When you register, set a goal for Mother’s Day Classic Local. Walk, jog or run; it’s completely up to you!

If you did not select to have your Race Bib posted and/or you registered after 26 March 2025, you will be able to collect your Race Bib before event day at the event site. If you do not have your race bib when you arrive at the Event Village on Event Day, please head to the registration tent to pick up ample time ahead of your start time.

Toilets will be located in the Event Village. Look out for directional signage or ask one of the friendly volunteers for directional assistance.

There will be a baggage storage area onsite where you can leave your belongings from 6am-12pm. Please do not leave any valuables in the storage area, as they cannot be responsible for goods lost or stolen.

BYO water in a reusable bottle. Water refill stations will be located at the Event Village, and a drink station will be available on the course route and at the finish line. Coffee and other food and beverages are available for purchase from vendors in the Event Village.

Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed at the event.
