Oz Comic-Con is back in Australia for another huge event hosted at the Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park.
With a huge range of television and movie stars, anime and manga, gaming and comics, there is much to enjoy at Oz Comic-Con Sydney.

Get in touch with your inner geek and dress up in your favourite costume for this fantastic event. There will be many amazing things for you to see and do. Come in your best cosplay, as there will be many prizes for the best dressed.
Meet & Greets
A meet-and-greet is an opportunity to get to know your favourite celebrity in a small group setting (max 25 people) in a quiet, relaxed space off the show floor. You will have an opportunity to chat and ask questions, hang out with your guests for half an hour, and at the end, they’ll take a group photo so you’ll always remember your special experience! The group photo will be emailed to you after the event.
Want to get a photograph or autograph with your favourite celebrity guest during your visit to Oz Comic-Con? You’ve got to grab a token.
Autograph Tokens – These allow you to get something signed by a celebrity.
Photograph Tokens – These allow you to have a professional photograph of yourself taken with a celebrity, and you will receive an 8×10 print.
Cosplay Parades
The Cosplay Parade is a great event at Oz Comic-Con that showcases the talent of cosplayers! It allows everyone to get up on stage and strut their stuff, no matter their skill level. The parade is for cosplayers who want to show off their cosplay and have fun!
You can enter as an individual or group, and both handmade and store-bought costumes are eligible to participate. This event is a great way to build confidence for those wishing to enter competitions in the future!
Live performances
Are you a part of an idol dance group, pop culture or K-pop dance group, or a solo or group performer? Would you like to showcase your talent at the Oz Comic-Con stage? Look no further than the Music and Entertainment Stage, the perfect venue for live pop culture performances featuring dancing, singing, and maybe even a lip sync competition (or two)!
Lip Sync Battle
It’s time to LIP SYNC FOR YOUR….eternal bragging rights! Can’t sing, but can you nail the silent solo? Have you watched every season of Ru Paul and want to live out your lip-syncing fantasies live on stage? Do you miss Dubsmash? Then this is the competition for you!
They will be running daily Lip-Sync Battles on the Music and Entertainment Stage. Limited spots are available, so be sure to submit your application as soon as possible! You can enter as an individual or as a group!
Just Dance
So You Think You Can Just Dance? This is your chance to find out!
Just Dance will be running all weekend at the Just Dance Stage. Come over and give it a go! Whether in a group or dancing solo, pick your song and bust your moves!
Sunday afternoon, join the ultimate Just Dance Competition as groups of 4 battle it out until we name our ultimate Just Dance Champion! See our crew in the Just Dance area on Sunday to sign up for the competition rounds.
Community Space
The Oz Comic-Con CommUnity Space is a safe and inclusive haven for members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community at the show. The goal is to create an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and accepted while celebrating what they love at Oz Comic-Con.
The CommUnity Space is designed to be a place where attendees can come together to socialise, and celebrate their love for all things queer pop culture. We provide a welcoming atmosphere where you can engage in activities, discussions and meetups that centre around queer representation and diversity in pop culture.
The team comprises individuals who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. Oz Comic-Con looks forward to providing a safe, inclusive space for all.
The District
The District is the activity melding pot. It’s a great place to check out if you want to browse or take part in our drawing competition, have a draw on the scribble wall, learn some origami, take part in some papercrafts or take part in some of the interactive comics and illustrator guest workshops!
The District will host our cosplay group meet-ups throughout the weekend, and its photo wall will be up all weekend. There’s a little bit of something for everyone in The District.
Cosplay Meetups
If you’re dressed for the occasion, head over to The District area and meet like-minded fans in awesome cosplay! Take a group cosplay picture in front of our awesome photo wall to immortalise the occasion! If you want to vote on the cosplay groups for your local meetup schedule, you can do that now; just scroll further down!
Photo Wall Backdrops
Start in The District and work around the show, snapping photos in front of the many incredible photo wall backdrops! From cityscapes, and winter mountains complete with dragon and Japanese cherry blossom gardens to post-apocalyptic wastelands, retro video games and fantasy unicorns, there’s a backdrop for every mood to snap the perfect moment of your incredible Oz Comic-Con weekend in front of while you’re at the show!
Scribble Wall
Our epic scribble wall returns to The District for 2021. For all you colouring addicts out there, it’s time for you to scratch that itch to leave your mark!
Interactive Illustrator Workshops
Be sure to check out the schedule of comic artist and illustrator guest interactive workshop panels in The District over the weekend! If you want to get an up close and personal tutorial from some of the best Australian illustrators in the business, this is your chance!
Official Drawing Competition
If you fancy yourself an artist, head to The District to participate in the official Drawing Competition. Entries are open all weekend until 3pm Sunday. You can draw in any medium, such as pencil, markers, etc. You can enter as long as it’s drawn on an official competition entry sheet at the show! We will have drawing supplies available to use. There are several prizes to be won. There’s even a kids category for our littlest artists!
Colouring in and Papercraft
If colouring in and papercrafts are more your speed, head over to The District to chill out, take part in some colouring sheets, or try your hand at the various papercrafts we have available.
Tabletop Gaming
Not one for console games? No problem! They have a library of tabletop games to satisfy your needs.
Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, Catan. Have you heard of those? Maybe you like Zombie Dice, Small World or Red Dragon Inn? This year, Oz Comic-Con is giving you access to these games and more! We’ll use their tabletop resources to bring you a two-day gaming extravaganza.

At home with a controller? Like Smash Brothers? How about a game of Rocket League? Join us at the AEL Freeplay Gaming Zone and play your favourite games (for free) all weekend!
Australian Esports League (AEL) joins forces with the leading Australian pop culture convention, Oz Comic-Con!
They bring their free-play gaming zone and esports tournaments to each show!
AEL recognises the importance of building ‘Grassroots’ Esports, and Oz Comic-Con is the perfect platform to deliver Esports and gaming to a broader audience and connect with esports fans and players. This partnership will help expand and grow the current AEL programs and provide their partners with the opportunity to showcase the latest esports and gaming products, including monitors, headsets, and games.
Console Tournaments
The Australian Esports League is excited to host a number of pick-up competitions and free-play gaming opportunities at Oz Comic-Con!
They welcome all attendees to the booth and sign up to play games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Rocket League, Mario Kart, Warzone, Halo: Infinite, Age of Empires IV, and more! Thanks to partners AOC Monitors and RIG Gaming, we will have Nintendo Switches out, plus Gaming PCs thanks to Acer ANZ. Come and have a game with the AEL!
Tickets
Oz Comic-Con offers many ticketing options to suit all pop culture enthusiasts. Explore our range of general admission and specialty tickets and find the best ticket for your Oz Comic-Con experience.
Tickets go on sale about 2-3 months before each event. You should buy tickets online before the show, as ticket prices increase on-site. Also, on-site ticket sales do not begin until half an hour after the doors open each show day.
They can’t guarantee tickets will be available at the door. If Oz Comic-Con tickets sell out before the event, no tickets will be available at the door. To ensure you don’t miss out, pre-purchase your tickets today! If tickets are available at the door, ticket sales will not begin until half an hour after doors open each show day.
They can scan your ticket directly from your phone or tablet. Please ensure your device is charged and you can access your confirmation email with your QR code.
All attendees five years old and up need a ticket to enter Oz Comic-Con. Children 4 and under will be admitted for free all weekend, and no ticket is required. Child tickets are for children ages 5-12 inclusive, and advanced registration is recommended. Additional child tickets may be purchased online. Please note that Oz Comic-Con recommends that all children under 18 attend with an adult, and all children under 13 must have an adult with them at the show.
Getting There
Driving
There are many easily accessible public transport options to Sydney Olympic Park, but driving to the venue is just as easy.
Located in the geographical heart of greater Sydney, the Park is easily reached from any direction.
With the final stage of WestConnex, Rozelle Interchange, and the M4 tunnel now open, the trip from the Sydney CBD to the Sydney Showground is quicker than ever, taking around 20 minutes (16km).
Car Parking
Sydney Olympic Park is easily approached by road, with the M4, Victoria Road, and Parramatta Road nearby.
Free Parking – There are 2-hour free parking spaces on Grand Parade, Olympic Boulevard, and Dawn Fraser Avenue for short visits.
Casual Parking – Sydney Olympic Park has over 10,000 parking spaces site-wide. Carparks P1, P5, and P6 are close to the Sydney Showground. The cost is $7 per hour, up to a maximum fee of $35 per day.
They recommend that you pre-book parking if you plan to visit Sydney Showground on the day of a major event. The cost is $35 per car for the day, and this is for one entry and exit into your selected car park.
Public Transport
Conveniently serviced by bus, train, and ferry services, the site was purpose-built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and has been designed to cope effortlessly with high visitor volumes.
By Train
Olympic Park train station is on Sydney Showground’s doorstep. The Sprint service, operated by CityRail, travels between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Stations daily, every 10 minutes.
A limited number of direct services also operate between Central Station and Olympic Park Station on weekday afternoons and for some major events.
By Bus
Sydney Buses operates direct bus services to Sydney Olympic Park from several locations, including Lidcombe, Strathfield, and Parramatta.
By Ferry
Sydney Ferries runs a daily service between Circular Quay and Parramatta, stopping at Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf. Visitors must also catch a connecting bus to travel to the Sydney Showground.
