Peoplecare Triathlon Wollongong 2025 Date, Course Map & Entry Prices
The Peoplecare Triathlon Wollongong offers races for all ages and abilities. Enter as an individual or get some friends together and be part of a team. Taste the excitement, exhilaration, and sense of accomplishment of participating in this festival.
Participants can use any swimming stroke for the swim leg, provided it doesn’t interfere with other swimmers. Water safety will be provided in the form of boards and boats, and swimmers are welcome to rest on their board if they need to catch their breath – there will be no penalty for resting during a swim. Regarding the costume, you may wear a wetsuit, but this decision is best made on the day of the triathlon as it will depend on the water’s temperatures. If the water is below 22 degrees, you may wear a wetsuit if you’d like.
Wave starts to ensure that swimmers are spread out in the water. The size of the wave is around 50 competitors a few minutes apart. The swim cap is given during the registration process, and it is required to wear it because its colour indicates your wave start.
For the bike leg, bikers will need to bring their own bikes, as these will not be provided. Many types of bikes are suitable for the event, including cruisers, mountain bikes, and ultra-fast road racing bikes. Most importantly, ensure that the bike you use is safe and roadworthy. Triathlon Australia officials will check the bikes as you enter the transition area. Bikers should also take note that it is mandatory to wear a helmet that meets Australian Standards; Triathlon Australia officers will also check helmets. Cycle-specific clothing is welcome, provided the torso is covered; you may change into running gear.
For the run leg, runners can walk if they cannot run the entire distance. Headphones will not be allowed at any part of the race. The run aid stations will have Vaseline for runners in case of chafing. Get sunscreen at the medical tent before the race starts to prevent sunburn.
First-timers are encouraged to join this free triathlon, but with a limited capacity of 200, it’s best to register beforehand.
Get ready to experience the inaugural Wollongong Marathon, featuring a breathtaking two-lap course, including a half marathon, the Kerryn McCann 10, and the much-loved Fitness 5.

The route circles the iconic lighthouse and Wollongong Harbor, offering spectacular ocean views that inspire and challenge. Concluding in Lang Park, this event promises a picturesque backdrop for seasoned marathoners and casual runners alike, making it a must-run for every enthusiast.
Standard
Wollongong Standard is set to SELL OUT QUICKLY! Set on such an amazing course so close to Sydney, it’s no surprise that it has been a long-time favourite of our athletes.
Last year’s race was almost a capacity field so this year the word is “get in early” as the opportunities to race the shores and streets of major metropolitan precincts are few and far between. All indications are that the Standard Distance Triathlon will be SOLD OUT early.

Aquabike
No, it’s not a watercraft with really big wheels. It’s the latest event in triathlon circles to be added to the ITU World Championships. Essentially, it’s the same as the Standard triathlon, just without the run. It’s the Swim, then through transition 1 and onto the bike, and finishing off when the athlete passes into transition 2.
Maybe you are suffering from an injury requiring non-impact activity, you don’t like to run, or you have another event on the horizon and don’t want to wear yourself out. With the addition of Aquabike to Triathlon Wollongong, you can now take part in the action.
