Snow Time in the Garden

Snow Times in the Garden is an annual winter event at the Hunter Valley Gardens in Pokolbin. It celebrates the winter season with a range of cool activities for kids of all ages.

Create a snow angel or build a snowman in our mega snow pit, race down our giant ice toboggan, and glide across our massive ice skating rink. Plus, amazing amusement rides, roving entertainment, hearty food and warm beverages.

Would you like to build a snowman or create a snow angel? The Snow Play Zone is great fun for the whole family – don’t forget your gloves!

Race down the super-fast Ice Toboggan! Grab a tube and speed down the 45-metre slide; it’s sure to get your adrenaline pumping, and once won’t be enough!

Pick up your skating session passes, grab your skates and get skating! Made with real ice, the ice skating rink is great fun. Tip – spaces are limited; pick up your skating session passes from 9:30am in the event area to avoid disappointment.

Snow Time offers delicious food and beverage options, including the Snow Time Café and various food stalls open during the event.

Adding an extra element of fun, the rides operate daily from 10am – 4:30pm and are $6 per ride, or you can purchase a bonus six-token pass for $30. Ride tokens can be purchased at the rides booth located in the event area. Height and age restrictions apply. Token sales close at 4pm.

Getting There

There are also plenty of accommodation options in the Hunter Valley if you want to extend your stay and explore this famous and picturesque wine-producing region.

Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley is just over a two-hour drive from Sydney via the M1. You can also catch public transport via train and bus services. Catch a train to Maitland station on the Main Northern Line, then catch a connecting bus to Cessnock. From there, it’s about a 20-minute taxi ride to Pokolbin.
