State of Origin

The State of Origin is one of the biggest events on the Australian sporting calendar.

The event is a series of three rugby league matches between the Queensland Maroons and the New South Wales Blues. Each year, the best players from the National League are selected to represent their state.

The rivalry between these two teams is most celebrated in Australian sports. Each year, thousands of people come to watch the three games around Australia in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. The games are hosted in the winter season, typically during May, June, and July each year.

Game 1 – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane – 28 May 2025

The 2025 Ampol State of Origin returns to Brisbane on Wednesday, 28 May at Suncorp Stadium.

Game III of the 2025 Origin Series returns to Sydney on Wednesday, 9 July at Accor Stadium.

Tickets for all State of Origin games are in high demand and sell out quickly. The seating map for each venue varies for each state and includes the Accor Stadium for Sydney and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. If you miss out on tickets, the games are televised internationally in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and many other countries. Millions of people watch the State of Origin each year, which is a ratings winner for the broadcasters.

Getting There

Accor Stadium is located on Edwin Flack Avenue within Sydney Olympic Park. The closest train station to Accor Stadium is Olympic Park, and the best way to travel there is to catch a direct train from Lidcombe Station, which operates every 10 – 20 minutes.

Accor Stadium is easily accessible on the Sydney Trains network, with trains an ideal way to visit the stadium.

By Train
Olympic Park is the closest train station to Accor Stadium, which is a short 5-minute walk from the station.

Catch a train from Lidcombe Station directly to Olympic Park. It operates every 10 to 20 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes during events.

By Bus
Accor Stadium is easily accessible by bus, with Sydney Buses operating several services to Sydney Olympic Park, including:

• Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Strathfield via Sydney Olympic Park
• Route 526 runs from Rhodes to Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf
• Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes and North Ryde

For selected major events at Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses run on multiple routes from around the Sydney metropolitan area to Olympic Park and return.

Car Parking
It is recommended you pre-book parking, especially if you are planning to drive and park on event days.

This should be done 7 to 10 working days in advance through Sydney Olympic Park.

On major event days, if you have not pre-booked your parking, we strongly recommend not driving, as car parks may be full by the time you arrive.

Traffic around Accor Stadium
Expect roads approaching Accor Stadium to be busier than usual on event days.

If you are planning to drive, allow additional travel time and ideally have pre-booked parking, especially on major event days.

By Taxi/Uber
A taxi rank is located near the Novotel Hotel on Olympic Boulevard in Sydney Olympic Park, within walking distance from Accor Stadium.

Please note that road closures may be in effect during major events, and traffic around Accor Stadium will be heavier than usual, so allow extra travel time.
