Sydney Marathon 2025, Date, Entry Prices, Course Map

The Sydney Marathon started in 2001, just after the Sydney Olympic Games and aimed to promote health and fitness for Sydneysiders. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you are a professional athlete or out for a fun walk with family and friends.

The three longer races start in Bradfield Park, run over the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, and finish at the Sydney Opera House. The Family Fun Run also runs over the bridge and finishes at the Conservatorium of Music – the entrance of the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Each participant will receive a race bib, timing chip and clothing baggage sticker. When you finish the race, you will receive a commemorative medal, and marathon runners will receive a T-shirt. All participants can also take advantage of free public transport to and from the event – show your race bib! Water will also be available at selected points along the course – including the finish.

It is important to note that the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed on race day between 4am – 11am, and there will also be some road closures around the event start and finish locations. It is best to take public transport to and from the event. Bradfield Park in Milsons Point on the T1 North Shore Line is the closest station to the start line. The closest stations to the finish line are Circular Quay and Wynyard.
