The Sydney Fair is returning to the Royal Randwick Racecourse with over 50 of Australia’s most outstanding dealers exhibiting Furniture, Fine Art, Decorative Arts, Jewellery, Prints and Posters, Antiquities, Rugs, Books, Vintage Fashion, Couture and Designer Vintage goods.
Held over four days, Australia’s best 20th-century antique, art deco, and vintage dealers will transform Randwick Racecourse’s Kensington Room into a collector’s mecca of thousands of unique and covetable items.

Debutant dealers at The Sydney Fair will mark their presence with one-of-a-kind pieces from their collections, including extravagant jewellery, stunning vintage furniture, unique objects from across the globe, and treasured Antipodean items.
The Fair’s attending jewellery experts will also give talks on Saturday and Sunday, teaching attendees how to seek out, manage and care for priceless jewellery collections and vintage pieces.
Attendees will also have the country’s foremost experts in jewellery, fine art, vintage fashions and furniture on hand to discuss their collections and learn the tips of the trade.
Opening night will be an unmissable opportunity to see the most covetable items in the fair and mix them with industry heads over a glass of sparkling wine.
A cafe on site serves various dishes and sweet treats, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks served as well.

Streams of Fire and Tongues of Flame

Join us as we explore the remarkable history of glass in an illustrated lecture by former gallery director and author, Geoffrey Edwards. In this lecture titled Streams of Fire and Tongues of Flame, Geoffrey Edwards discusses ancient and modern glass in a broad cultural context, referencing major glass collections like that at the National Gallery of Victoria. The lecture also delves into glass imagery and symbolism across the visual arts, film, and literature, from biblical allegory to the novels of Daphne du Maurier and the films of Federico Fellini and Werner Herzog.
Geoffrey Edwards is the President of ArtsNational. He was Director of the Geelong Art Gallery, one of Australia’s oldest and largest regional galleries. Before this appointment, he held Senior Curatorial positions at the National Gallery of Victoria, where he was in charge of the collections of International and Australian sculpture and Melbourne’s celebrated holdings of ancient, antique and modern glass. He authorises various monographs and exhibition catalogues and contributes to journals in Australia, Japan, Britain and the US.

100 years of Art Deco – Art Deco Style

Art Deco burst onto the world stage in Paris in 1925. Art Deco was an exuberant international phenomenon emerging after the austerity of the First World War. The visual culture of Art Deco is defined not only through architecture but also through art and design, from the luxurious to the mass-produced, simplified lines expressed by the dynamism of the Machine Age.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Art Deco, join Claudia Chan Shaw to explore Art Deco Style – the skyscrapers, the decorative arts, the fashion and its ongoing influence.

Royal Randwick is located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, approximately 6km from Sydney CBD and 8km from Sydney Airport. The venue is well serviced by public transport, with a Light Rail station and bus stop located directly outside the main entrance on Alison Road.
By Public Transport
The new L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Catch a light rail service to the Royal Randwick stop on Alison Road opposite the racecourse main entrance. Services run regularly from 5am until 1am on weekdays and weekends.
By Car
There is limited complimentary parking available in the Main Drive or Taxi Rank area, accessed via Gate 1 Alison Road or Ascot Street. This parking is on a first come, first serve basis.
ASCOT STREET CAR PARK
Royal Randwick’s multi-deck Ascot Street car park is available for paid parking. The car park is accessed via Alison Road Entrance or Ascot Street off Doncaster Road. The parking fee is flat at $10 per day and is a cashless payment only.
By Bus
Regular bus services run between Randwick and Central Station.
By Taxi/Uber/Hire Car
Taxis, hire cars, limousines and ride share services may enter Royal Randwick through either Gate 1 on Alison Road or via the Ascot Street entrance.
Disabled Parking and Access
Some Disabled parking is available in the outdoor parking and paid Disabled Parking ($10 per day) is available in the Multi Storey Car Park next to the venue. Disabled Access and Toilets are available inside the Venue.
